As the Zauviir House’s Weaponsmaster Lesaonar is all brawn, having no magical talent aside from his drow abilities. Well versed in many fighting styles and physically able to don heavy armor for his small stature earns Lesaonar a heavy measure of respect from all at the temple. Like his brother Valas, Lesaonar is a beautiful man (+20 APP) and could pass as his brother’s twin as they are only twenty two years apart. Lesaonar has all the features of a typical drow. Crimson eyes that look patient and strong, long white hair made into a tightly groomed braid, and supple dark gray skin. He has a serious look to him most of the time, but have his lips break into a smile and see a whole new side to him.
Lesaonar patrols often when he is not on guard duty or at a family function. He wears mostly light armors when patrolling, medium armors for guard duty, and heavy plate mail during religious ceremonies. Lesaonar is never without armor, except to bathe and even then it is nearby to be put on if needed. The armor comes in many shapes, sizes, and decoration, but red, black and purple are his staple color choices.
While two weapon fighting style seems to be popular, Lesaonar prefers the longer heavier swords that require two hands to hold such as the great sword or the falchion.
Brief History: A crooked boy turned straight and narrow. Lesaonar was once very close to his older brother Valas. He took the might path and Valas took the magic one. Together they were the most troublesome duo for their mother and sisters, breaking every rule and law that they could get away with. Lesaonar had dreams of working as a personal guard for his uncle, a conclave member, since Valas was his apprentice. Maybe he could become a city watchman or even a mercenary for hire; see the world abroad and the surface too. Lolth be damned, he as in Sshamath, the city of freedom from religion.
But all those dreams and his foolish boyish arrogance were dashed in one fatal instant. For his family was the last family to pay homage to Lolth and their compound also served as a temple. He commonly desecrated it; smashing statues, burning the prayer cloth, and peeing in the incense. One day he was caught in the act by his eldest sister and the favorite of their mother. Lesaonar tried to escape but all entrances were blocked. Her magic was mightier than his steel and he was beaten until knocked unconscious.
Valas found him later, and together they vowed their sister would be brought down.
Things did not go according to plan, and the result was Valas was scarred and publicly humiliated while Lesaonar was forced to watch. The torture of his idolized brother forever maimed his spirit. He became the good son and obeyed the laws thereafter.
It wasn’t until a little drow girl with red hair was bought and put into training that Lesaonar realized that he would have another sister to replace the one that Valas got rid of. This new one was Xull’rae. She was fearless and one to be feared for she finished her training faster than anyone in the temple had ever done before. He thought of her as nothing more than a rabid puppet that his mother would control until graduation night.
He was helping make rounds for patrols in the more secret sections of the compound when he spotted something red. He dismissed his men before they spotted her too and approached her slowly. She was alone and shivering in a corner, but when he went to touch her, she sliced his hand with a dagger saying she would bed no man or demon until she was ready and no one would force her to. He grabbed her knife hand by the wrist and was going to drag her back to their mother but her obstinacy knew no bounds. She bit him and ran him around the compound for an hour until both were tired, so they came to a truce. Xull’rae wouldn’t tell anyone that Lesaonar couldn’t apprehend a child, and Lesaonar wouldn’t snitch on Xull’rae for abandoning the party.
When questioned, Xull’rae said she saw someone suspicious and her with Lesaonar’s help found an intruder, Lesaonar presented evidence but never verbally confirmed or denied the story.
From that time on Lesaonar has felt a healing within his soul. Many years later, Xull’rae and Lesaonar are the best of friends; as close as drow can be, but his brother Valas is a constant reminder never to get too close…yet he is drawn to her fire.
Personality and character interaction: Lesaonar is a serious and compelling young man that has earned the respect of his peers for his physical strength and moral code of honor. He is more of a knight than a soldier ready for battle. Extremely loyal to a fault and always prepared for the worst Lesaonar is very dependable, calm, and mannerly even in the most stressful of situations. He is his mother’s faithful servant, his brother’s patsy, and all of his sister’s see him as a well trained pedigree dog.
Xull’rae is a breath of fresh air. He would do anything for her if she would ask him to, and loves her more for loving him enough not to. Theirs is a relationship he treasures and is deeply personal to him and he knows without being told that Xull’rae feels the same way.
Vesz’aun is a rival he’d rather ignore if the bladesinger would just leave him alone…
To anyone else Lesaonar is courteous and charming, going out of his way to make anyone feel at ease IF not at the temple. At the temple, he is like any male, speaks when spoken to and doesn’t move without orders.
If you break the law inside the temple or the laws of Sshamath, Lesaonar will swiftly bring you to justice before someone else can deal out a crueler fate.
Lesaonar in a Group: Lesaonar can make an excellent addition to a group if allowed to. His friendly manner and easy going nature can be ideal for non-drow or half drow to be around and his ability to take orders from whoever is leader make drow seek him. Lesaonar’s skill with weapons and combat is best used if he is on the front line. He will attack the enemy or defend the caster’s whichever is ordered first or what feels right to him if no command is given. Other fighter’s are comrades in arms and will lend support when needed. Rogues are to be watched warily unless he has befriended them (which isn’t likely) but are still treated with respect.
If hard pressed, Lesaonar will lead the battle away from the weak or wounded or stay and stand ground until everyone has had a chance to retreat. The reputation is: he has never lost a battle.
Lesaonar at Current: In the true storyline he is awaiting the return of Xull’rae and is furious at his mother for handing her over to Cogliostro, in exchange for his magic. In a nutshell: The Matron can call on Cogliostro to craft whatever she desires as long as Cog can take Xull to his house for a certain amount of time….

But hey...if he's cool to do whatever a female would say, especially in the temple, I'd be surprised if no female has taken advantage of that little tid-bit...*wicked grin* Especially seeing as you stress his attractiveness...
Why do I have a feeling that he'll break his loyalty to family and temple for Xull...

Yes he's a boy toy but he's protected as long as mommy wants him around...and now Xull too, matron and heir...no other priestess would dare harm him unless they are prepared for a smackdown. As for other women in the city, yes there are a few but Les is tied tight to his mother's strings and most don't find his religion worth fighting over.
He might turn to Xull completely, but My DM has warned me not to press it too soon or too fast. He is his mother's heart and body, but Xull has his spirit...but it's broken. We'll see in time what happens when he finds out she's a masked traitor.

He is not evil, but he isn't good either. But he is drow and knows the games to play, he just rather play it safe. When I do the write up of Valas I think you'll understand Lesaonar better.

The past is history.
The future is a mystery and the today is a gift.
That is why it is called present.
